How do I pin a note to the top of an opportunity?
Open the opportunity, find the note in the activity history, click the options menu (⋮) on its row and choose Pin. It moves to a Pinned section right above the history — even if it was written months ago.
Before you start
- Who can: anyone with access to the opportunity can pin and unpin. Unlike editing and deleting, pinning does not change the note's content, only where it is read.
- Pinning is shared with the whole team: what one person pins, everyone who opens the opportunity sees.
- Limit of 3 pinned notes per opportunity. That is what keeps the highlight meaningful.
- Only manually recorded activities (note, call, WhatsApp, meeting) can be pinned. Automatic history events cannot.
Pin a note
- Open the opportunity — from the pipeline card or its direct link.
- Find the note in the activity history.
- Click the options menu (⋮) next to the time and choose Pin.
The note appears in the Pinned section at the top of the history. The section only exists while at least one note is pinned.
Unpin
In the same options menu (⋮) — either in the Pinned section or on the original history row — click Unpin. The note goes back to showing only on its own date in the history.
When 3 are already pinned
Trying to pin a fourth shows You already pinned 3 notes on this card. Unpin one to pin another. and nothing changes. Unpin one of the three to free a slot.
Pinned notes and search
As soon as you type in the history search, the Pinned section leaves the screen: while a term is active, the opportunity shows only what matches it. Clear the search and the pinned notes come back to the top. See Search the activity history.

If it did not work
- No Pin in the menu → the row is not a manually recorded activity. Automatic events (stage moves, messages, purchases) cannot be pinned.
Could not pin the noteappears → nothing changed. Try again; if it persists, check the error codes.- You pinned it and it did not move up → check whether a search is active in the field above the history. While searching, the Pinned section stays hidden.
