Import your first contacts
Upload a CSV of your list, map each column to a CRM field and finish the import. The contacts arrive already carrying the tags and list you choose.
Before you start
- Role: Owner, Admin, Editor or Attendant. The Viewer role cannot import contacts — see no permission.
- Plan: any plan; imported contacts count towards your plan's contact limit.
- File: CSV format, 10MB maximum.
Step by step
- In Contacts, click Import contacts.
- On the Upload data step, upload the CSV and tick the confirmation that the contacts were collected in line with data protection rules.
- On the Map fields step, review which CRM attribute matches each column. You can use standard attributes, Add custom attribute, or choose Do not import for a column. You must map at least one email or phone field to continue.
- On the tags step, select the tags to apply to the imported contacts (optional).
- On the list step, choose the destination list (optional). If a contact already exists, the new fields are added and fields with no data stay blank.
- Click Import contacts. The summary at the end shows contacts Created and Updated, plus any validation, duplicate-email or mapping errors.
To capture contacts straight from an external page instead of uploading a file, use a capture link.
