Create your first recovery automation
You are going to build an automation that fires when a cart is abandoned, waits a while, and sends a WhatsApp message to bring the contact back to the checkout. At the end you switch it to active.
Role: any member with workspace access — automations have no role lock.
Before you start
- A connected WhatsApp number, so the sending step works. See how to connect WhatsApp.
- A product with a published checkout — that is what produces the abandoned-cart trigger. See Products.
Step by step
- In the sidebar, open your automations and create a new one.
- Give it a name such as
Cart recoveryand save. - On the canvas, choose the first step. In the panel that asks when the automation starts, select the abandoned cart trigger.
- Click the + below the trigger, choose a timer and set the wait. One hour gives the contact time to come back on their own.
- Click + again and, in the action list, choose WhatsApp.
- On the WhatsApp step, write the recovery message (a reminder with the checkout link, for example) and save.
- At the top, activate it. The automation switches to active and starts reacting to new abandoned carts.
That's it: every contact who abandons the checkout enters the automation, waits an hour and receives your recovery message.

If it didn't work
- Activation does not complete (an automation cannot be activated without steps): the automation needs at least one step after the trigger.
- The WhatsApp message does not arrive: it may be Meta's sending limit — see the Meta limit (Portuguese).
- The contact did not enter the automation: check that the trigger and the checkout are set up correctly.
