How do I make the webinar start right after sign-up?
Turn on Just in time in the Sessions tab. Each person who registers gets a session of their own, which starts right away (Instantly) or a few minutes after sign-up. You also choose where the video starts: from the beginning or from a point in the video — starting midway makes it feel like the broadcast was already running.
Role: any member with access to the workspace.
Before you start: the webinar needs videos in its collection (see How do I use several videos in a webinar and set their order?).
Turn on Just in time
- Open the webinar and go to the Sessions tab.
- Click New session and choose Just in time.
- Under When it starts, choose how long after sign-up the registrant's session starts:
- Instantly: the registrant lands straight in the video, already on air.
- 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min or 60 min: the registrant sees a countdown to the start.
- Other: type the minutes (0 to 720).
- Under Where the video starts, choose:
- From the beginning; or
- From a point in the video, and type the point as min:sec (e.g.
12:30) or h:min:sec. The field shows the total length of the videos; the point must be before the end.
- Click Enable Just in time.
With Just in time on, a Just in time is on notice appears at the top of the Sessions tab, with the time until the start, the point where the video starts, and the Copy link, Open room and Edit buttons.
Change the delay or the video start point
- In the Sessions tab, click Edit on the Just in time is on notice.
- Adjust When it starts and Where the video starts.
- Click Save.
The change applies to people who register from now on. Anyone already registered keeps the session they got at sign-up.
Turn off Just in time
- In the Sessões (sessions) tab, click Desativar (turn off) on the Just in time ativo notice.
- Confirm with Desativar Just in time.
People who register from then on join the sessions with a set date. If there are none yet, the confirmation warns you: until you create one, the room shows that no session is scheduled yet.
Where to see the Just in time numbers
In the Statistics tab, under Per session, the registrant sessions show up added up in a single row of type Just-in-time: how many registrant sessions were created, from when to when, registrants, attendees and the rate. Sessions with a set date keep their own rows.
The tab totals (registrations, leads, attendance, source) already include people who came in through Just in time.
Good to know
-
Turning Just in time off deletes nothing. Registrant sessions, registrations and attendance stay in Statistics. Only new registrants stop getting their own session.
-
There is no session report for Just in time. Each registrant has their own session, and the automatic per-session report covers only sessions with a set date.
-
The video starts at the chosen point and plays to the end. Chat, offer and audience follow the video time: starting at
20:00, whatever was scheduled before that already shows as past. -
The dates in the tab stop receiving registrants. With Just in time on, each sign-up creates its own session, and dated sessions go unused.
-
Creating a dated session turns Just in time off. When you create a Single session or a Series, the webinar goes back to set dates.
-
Registrant sessions don't show up in the list in the Sessions tab: they are created on their own, one per sign-up.
If something goes wrong
- "Enter the point as min:sec": use numbers separated by colons, such as
12:30or1:05:00. - "The point must be before the video ends": pick a point shorter than the total length shown next to the field.
- The video started from the beginning, not from the chosen point: the video collection became shorter than the point after sign-up. Adjust the point in Edit; it applies to the next registrants.
