#How do I broadcast a webinar live from my camera?

From the session's control room you go live with the browser's camera and microphone, with nothing to install. Viewers in the room see your broadcast instead of the recorded video, and chat, offer and presence keep working as usual. When you end, the recording of the live shows up in your video library within about a minute.

Role: any member with access to the workspace.

#Before you start

• Open the session's control room from the webinar's Sessions tab. The button shows up from 1 hour before the scheduled time.
• Use a browser with camera and microphone access. The first time, the browser asks for permission; if you deny it, the panel shows Camera and microphone are blocked and you need to allow access in the site settings and reload.
• The live broadcast is per session and it is your call: the session stays in recorded mode until you click Go live. An ended session cannot go live again; to broadcast again, create another session.

#1. Prepare the broadcast

1. In the panel, the large frame shows your camera as soon as the browser allows access.
2. Click Prepare live broadcast. The state changes to Ready to go live.
3. Check picture and sound. The round buttons toggle Microphone and Camera; the third one shares your screen.

While the state is Ready to go live, nobody in the room sees you yet. This is the moment to adjust framing and light.

#2. Go live

1. Click Go live.
2. The state goes through Connecting… for a few seconds and becomes Live once the signal settles.

What changes for viewers:

• The session becomes live from this click. If the scheduled time had not arrived yet, the session starts now.
• The recorded video leaves the screen and your broadcast takes its place. During Connecting…, the room shows The live broadcast starts in a moment….
• Real chat, the offer on click and the viewer count behave like in any live session.

If your signal drops (unstable network, tab closed by mistake), the state goes back to Connecting… and the room waits. Reopening the panel puts you back on stage automatically; the session only ends when you click End broadcast.

#3. End

1. Click End broadcast.
2. The camera turns off, the session is marked as ended and viewers see the closing page configured in the builder.

The full recording shows up within about a minute, named Live recording with the date. It does not replace the webinar's video by itself: see below how to reuse it.

#4. Use the recording as the video for the next sessions

1. Open the webinar builder at the Video step.
2. In the Live recordings list, find the broadcast by date and click Use this video.
3. The recording becomes the webinar's video: the next sessions, in recorded mode, play the live. The one in use shows the In use mark.

The list only shows up after a broadcast has ended and its recording is ready.

In the Sessions tab, the session broadcast live gets the Live mark next to its status, and the View recording button opens the video as soon as it is ready.

#The offer and the pinned message arrive with the video

What you do in the panel (release the offer, pin a message) reaches viewers a few seconds after the click, on purpose. The live broadcast has a natural delay of a few seconds until the viewer's screen, and without that wait the offer card would show up before the moment you announce it in the video. Chat has no such delay.

#Broadcasting with OBS or another encoder

If you prefer a professional encoder (scenes, several cameras, overlays), click Broadcast with OBS or another encoder below the buttons. The panel shows the Server and the Key to configure the encoder. The rest of the flow is the same: click Go live in the panel and start the encoder.

The key is secret. Anyone holding it can broadcast as you, so do not share it or show it on screen during the live.
