  • Connect Instagram

Connect an Instagram professional account under Settings → Connections → Instagram and authorise Clickmax with Meta. Once connected, DMs arrive in the LiveChat and Instagram becomes available as a trigger and an action in automations.

    Before you start

    • Role: access to Settings → Connections (connecting needs no specific role).
    • Plan: connecting is available on any plan; sending Instagram messages consumes credits.
    • An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) — a personal account is not accepted.
    • Access to authorise the connection with Meta (the Instagram login, or the linked Facebook one).
    • Permission to manage direct messages on that account.

    Steps

    1. Go to Settings → Connections → Instagram and start Connect Instagram.
    2. On the prerequisites step, review the list and start.
    3. Wait through provisioning — Clickmax prepares the channel and generates the Meta authorisation link (a few seconds).
    4. On the authorisation step, authorise Instagram. A Meta popup opens. (If the popup is blocked, use the link to open it in a new tab.)
    5. In the popup, sign in with the Instagram account (or the linked Facebook one), pick the account and approve the direct message permissions.
    6. Come back to Clickmax and wait — the connection completes on its own. If it stalls, check again or reopen the authorisation (the wizard waits up to 10 minutes).
    7. The final step confirms the account is connected.

If the account is already connected to another Clickmax account, the wizard offers to move it here — the other connection is disconnected, and that cannot be undone.

    If it didn't work

    • The authorisation could not be completed — usually the account is not a professional one (Business or Creator). Check the account type in Instagram and try again.
    • Message receiving could not be enabled — the account is usually still connected to another platform (ManyChat, Take Blip and similar). Disconnect it there and try again.
    • No access to Settings → Connections? See no permission.
