  • How to use the PagBank checkout as a step in my funnel

    In the funnel builder, add the External Checkout step and pick PagBank. It is a checkout page that sells through PagBank: the first time you open the page, the editor already adds the PagBank Checkout block and opens its panel so you can pick what to sell. Link the Purchase Approved trigger to the next step; sales made there count in the funnel revenue.

    Before you start

    • You need edit access to the funnel.
    • The workspace needs an active PagBank integration, with the token. If you don't have one yet, follow Integrate PagBank.
    • If you will offer Pix or boleto, confirm they are enabled in your PagBank account. See How to sell through PagBank right on my page.
    • The block sells one-time products; subscriptions are not sold through it.

    Step by step

    1. Open the funnel in the builder, in Edit.
    2. Right-click the canvas (or drag a trigger from another step to an empty space) to open Add Step, pick External Checkout and then PagBank.
    3. The step shows up on the canvas with the Purchase Approved and Undefined Trigger triggers.
    4. Hover over the step thumbnail and click Add content. Pick a template, one of your pages or a blank page.
    5. The editor opens with the PagBank Checkout block already on the page and its panel open. Pick the PagBank account and what will be sold. The rest of the setup is in How to sell through PagBank right on my page.
    6. Publish the page and go back to the funnel.
    7. Link the Purchase Approved trigger to the step the buyer should see after paying (for example, the thank-you page).
    8. Publish the funnel.

    If you delete the block from the page, just click Edit page on the step: the editor adds the block back.

    Which triggers this step has

    The payment form lives on your page, so the step knows the result of each attempt:

    • Purchase Approved: the card payment is approved or the Pix is paid while the page is open;
    • Card Declined: PagBank declines the card;
    • Pix Generated: the buyer finishes with Pix and the code shows up on the page;
    • Boleto Generated: the buyer finishes with boleto and the boleto line shows up on the page;
    • Upsell Accepted and Downsell Accepted: the buyer buys on the funnel's upsell or downsell step, through the form or through Quick checkout;
    • the page triggers: Page Viewed, Scroll, Time on Page and Exit Intent.

    The funnel only moves to the next step when the payment is confirmed. With Pix, that happens after the buyer pays. Boletos don't move the funnel from the page, because they take up to 3 business days to clear; the sale arrives once the boleto is paid.

    The block has no decline button: buyers who don't want the offer click a page button set to Ao clicar (On click) > Recusar oferta do funil (Decline funnel offer), which follows the funnel's decline path.

    Triggers like Purchase Declined and Cart Abandoned only exist in the ClickMax checkout and show up disabled, with the notice This checkout does not send this event. Use another trigger.

    1-click upsell and downsell

    To offer an upsell after the purchase, add another External Checkout step with PagBank and link it to the Purchase Approved trigger of the previous step. There's no upsell mode to pick and nothing to turn on: a buyer who just bought by card in the same PagBank account and on the same domain, up to 30 minutes earlier, sees the Quick checkout card with the Buy with 1 click and Use another payment method buttons. The 1-click charges the card saved in the previous purchase, without asking for the details again. Without a valid previous purchase, the buyer sees the full form.

    Link Upsell Accepted (or Downsell Accepted) to the next step. For the decline path, add a button to the page with Ao clicar (On click) > Recusar oferta do funil (Decline funnel offer). Details in 1-click purchase.

    Differences from the ClickMax checkout step

    • Products: the step has no option to link ClickMax products. What is sold is the product picked in the block.
    • Automations: the triggers of this step only take the buyer to another step; they don't start automations. To react to the sale, create an automation with the PagBank integration triggers.

    Where I see the sales

    In the funnel's Analytics Mode, the step card shows Purchases, Revenue and Conversion rate for sales made through PagBank on that page, as soon as PagBank confirms each purchase. See Which sales count in the funnel revenue.

    If it didn't work

    • The editor opened without the PagBank Checkout block: reload the funnel builder and click Edit page on the step again.
    • The buyer paid and the funnel didn't move on: check that the Purchase Approved trigger is linked to the next step and that the funnel was published after the link. Boletos don't move the funnel from the page, and neither does a Pix paid after the buyer closed the page.
    • The sale doesn't show on the card: check that the PagBank integration is active in Integrations and that the page was published after you added the block.
    • The upsell showed the form instead of Quick checkout: the previous purchase was on another domain, by Pix or boleto, in another PagBank account or more than 30 minutes ago, or the block doesn't offer credit card.
    • The buyer sees This payment method is unavailable. Try another one.: the method isn't enabled in the PagBank account. See the panel warnings in How to sell through PagBank right on my page.
