Connect Vturb and read your VSL metrics
Connect your Vturb account with its Analytics API key and Clickmax starts listing your videos in the page editor and showing each VSL's metrics — play rate, engagement, retention and A/B test comparisons — without you opening the Vturb dashboard.
Before you start
- Workspace role: Owner, Administrator, Editor or Collaborator. The Finance, Guest and Agent roles have no access to Integrations.
- A Vturb account with the Analytics API enabled.
- Each workspace can have one connected Vturb account.
Step by step
- In Clickmax, open Integrations > Explore integrations and, under Video and VSL, pick the Vturb card.
- In another tab, sign in to Vturb and copy the key from Settings > Analytics API.
- Back in Clickmax, paste it into the API key field.
- (Optional) Paste the embed code of any video in your account. See below for what it is used for.
- Click Connect account.
Clickmax validates the key against Vturb before saving: if it is wrong or inactive, the connection is not created and you get the error right away.
Once connected, Vturb shows up under Integrations with status Active and the date it was last validated.
What the embed code is for
The API key grants access to the metrics, but Vturb's API does not tell us which account it belongs to — and that identifier is required to build the player address when you pick a video from the editor.
The embed code solves it: Clickmax extracts only the account identifier from it. That is why the field is optional when connecting:
- embed pasted: videos already show up with thumbnails in the editor and can be applied to pages;
- no embed: the connection works and the metrics are available, and the editor asks for the embed the first time you open a Vturb block.
To copy the embed, open any video in the Vturb dashboard and use the </> button. Paste the whole snippet — Clickmax discards the rest.
Connecting from the editor
While building a page you do not have to leave it: add or select a Vturb block and use the Connect API tab in the right sidebar.
It is the same connection either way — connecting in one place counts for the other, because there is only one Vturb account per workspace.
One video per page
The same Vturb video cannot be applied twice on the same page. The player uses the video identifier as the element identifier on the page, so a second block with the same video would not work on the published page.
In practice: when you pick a video already used on that page, the card is disabled and Clickmax warns you. Pick another video or remove the previous block.
How to read the metrics
Rates are shown as percentages in the interface. When interpreting them:
Period metrics refresh every few minutes, so they do not reflect the current minute.
A/B tests
When a video is part of a Vturb A/B test, Clickmax compares the variants side by side and shows the per-second retention curve.
Two traps when calling a winner:
- decide by revenue per visitor, not conversion rate — a variant can convert less and still earn more per visitor;
- if the test is still running, the numbers are a trend, not a verdict: traffic is still being split.
"Invalid credential" status
It means the connection exists but Vturb rejected the key — usually because it was revoked or expired in the Vturb dashboard.
To fix it, open the integration under Integrations and paste a new key. You do not need to disconnect first.
Disconnecting
Under Integrations, open Vturb and click Disconnect.
The key is deleted — Clickmax does not keep a credential you have already revoked. Videos already applied to published pages keep working, because the player is in the page HTML; what stops working is the video list in the editor and the metrics panels.
