      • How do I search for a note in the activity history?

      Use the Search the history field above the activity list. It exists in both places: the opportunity history and the contact history. Type your text and the list narrows to what matches — no need to scroll through months of history.

      Before you start

      • Who can: anyone who already sees that opportunity's or contact's history. Search does not widen what you can see, it only narrows it.
      • Search works alongside the other filters: in the contact history, the typed term and the filter bar (event, period, offer, tag) add up.
      1. Open the opportunity or the contact.
      2. In the Search the history field, type the text you are looking for.
      3. The list refreshes on its own after a brief pause in typing.

      To go back to the full history, click the X inside the field.

      What search reaches (and what it does not)

      Search looks at the text someone wrote: the content of notes and the subject that came with the event (the name of a completed task, for example).

      It does not look at the labels the screen builds — "Status changed", "Opportunity moved" and the like. Searching for moved will not return stage moves. To narrow by activity type, use the filter bar instead of search.

      A few useful details:

      • It is not case sensitive.
      • It finds the term anywhere in the text, not only at the start.
      • Characters like % and _ are treated as ordinary text: searching for 100% looks for exactly 100%.

      Search in the opportunity history

      While a term is typed, the Pinned section stays hidden — the screen shows only what matches the search. Clear the field to bring it back. See Pin a note to the top of an opportunity.

      If it did not work

      • Search came back empty but you are sure the activity exists → check whether your term lives in a screen label rather than in written text. See the section above on what search reaches.
      • In the contact history, search came back empty → a filter in the bar may be narrowing it too. Remove the filter chips and search again.
