  • How do I reply automatically to comments on my social media posts?

Use the Social comment received trigger to start the automation when someone comments on a post of an account connected in Social media. Then add the Reply to social comment step to post a public reply under that comment.

Role: any member with edit access in the workspace.

    Before you start

    Add the trigger

    1. Open the automation in the editor and click the start trigger.
    2. In the Social category, choose Social comment received.
    3. Set the filters. All are optional; empty means any comment:
      • Social account — only comments on that account.
      • Network — only comments on that network (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube or LinkedIn).
      • Comment keyword — only comments with the chosen text.
    4. Connect the trigger to a next step and publish the automation.

Each comment starts the automation once, even if the comment notice arrives more than once.

    Add the reply

    1. On the canvas, click + after the trigger and choose Reply to social comment. The step only shows in automations started by the Social comment received trigger.
    2. Write the reply. It accepts variables, such as {{nome}}.
    3. Save and publish the automation.

The reply is posted as a public comment from your account, under the comment that started the automation. To write the reply with AI, put the Ask the AI step before it and use the {{aiReply}} variable in the text.

    How the reply is posted

    • An empty message is not posted. If the text is empty after the variables are filled (for example, {{aiReply}} when the AI did not answer), the automation moves on without replying.
    • Long text is cut at the network limit, at the end of a word and with an ellipsis:
    NetworkReply limit
    TikTok150 characters
    LinkedIn1,250 characters
    Instagram2,200 characters
    Facebook8,000 characters
    YouTube10,000 characters
    • Lead timeline: a posted reply shows as Comment replied (Social). If the network rejects the reply, it shows Comment reply failed.

    Instagram connected twice

If the Instagram account is also connected in the Instagram channel in Messaging (Instagram Direct), the Instagram comment trigger and this trigger are separate. Both fire for the same comment. Build the automation with only one of them, or the comment starts two automations and gets two replies.

    If it did not work

    • The automation did not start: check that the account is connected in Social media and that the account, network and keyword filters match the comment. Comments from your own account do not start the automation.
    • The automation ran but did not reply: check that the message was not empty after the variables, and look for Comment reply failed on the lead timeline.
