How do I edit, duplicate or remove an Analytics widget?
Every widget on the dashboard has a … menu (Widget options) in the top-right corner of the card, always visible. It holds Edit, Duplicate and Remove widget — the gear and trash icons that only showed up on hover are no longer on the card.
Before you start
- Workspace role: any role with access to Analytics. See the permissions table.
- Open a dashboard under Analytics.
Steps
- On the card, click the … menu in the top-right corner.
- Pick an option:
- Edit opens the Widget settings window: chart type, metric, Segment by and that card's own filters. Changes apply right away, and Done closes the window.
- Duplicate adds a copy right after the original, with the same settings. If you gave the card a title, the copy gets (copy) at the end of it.
- Remove widget takes the card off the dashboard.
- That's it: the dashboard saves the changes on its own.
Do not mix it up with the Edit button at the top of the dashboard: that one rearranges cards and adds section titles. The Edit in the … menu only changes the card you clicked.
What the card header and notices mean: what each part of an Analytics widget shows.
Good to know
- Duplicate disappears from the menu when the dashboard is already at its widget limit.
- Section title bands have no … menu: to remove one, hover the band and click the trash icon.
- In full screen (TV mode), the … menu, the breakdown selector and the Set up, Try again and Set goal buttons are hidden — nobody configures a widget from across the room.
- To change the size or order of cards, use Edit → Reorder cards at the top of the dashboard.
