How to watch visits to my site happen in real time
Go to Contacts & Commercial → Other → Visitors and open the Live tab. It lists the latest actions on your pages — viewed the page, viewed or submitted the form, clicked, started checkout, purchased — and refreshes on its own every 10 seconds. It is the fastest way to check whether tracking on a new page is working.
Before you start
- A workspace role with access to the Visitors screen.
- Your pages need tracking enabled.
Steps
- Go to Contacts & Commercial → Other → Visitors.
- Click the Live tab.
- At the top, see how many actions in the last hour were recorded. The pulsing green dot means the list is refreshing.
- Each row shows the icon of the visit channel, the action, who did it (the contact name, or "Visitor" plus the start of the ID when the person has not identified themselves yet), the page and how long ago it happened.
- Click a row to open that visitor's detail.
- To freeze the list while you read, click Pause. Resume starts refreshing again.
New actions come in at the top with a highlight that fades in a few seconds. The list does not scroll by itself, so you do not lose your place.
To test your tracking setup
- Keep the Live tab open.
- In another window, open the page you want to test.
- Within 10 seconds the visit shows up as Viewed the page.
If nothing shows up, check that tracking is enabled on the page.
Details
- The list refreshes every 10 seconds and pauses on its own when you switch to another browser tab. When you come back, it refreshes right away.
- The automatic signals tracking sends all the time — scrolling, reading time and elements that appeared on screen — are left out of the list. They still count in the reports; they are just kept out of here so people's actions do not get lost among them.
- The list shows actions from the last 24 hours and keeps up to the 100 most recent.
- Above 10,000 actions in the last hour, the counter shows 10,000+.
