  • Why did the task disappear after I marked the opportunity as lost?

Because it stopped being pending work. When you mark an opportunity as lost, its tasks leave the Tasks list, the Service agenda and the "Overdue" counter. The idea is for the queue to show only what is still worth doing — previously, pending items from deals already lost kept piling up and inflating the overdue count.

The same applies to deleted opportunities.

    Nothing was deleted

The tasks still exist, they are just hidden from the queue. If you reopen the opportunity, they show up again in the list and count towards the indicators exactly as they were — same due date, same owner. There is nothing to recreate.

Where you can still see these tasks

Opening the lost opportunity itself, its panel still lists the tasks normally, and you can create new ones there. What changes is only the general queue: it no longer chases those tasks day to day.

Won opportunities stay in the queue

Tasks from an opportunity marked as won remain in the list. Post-sale meetings, sending the contract and following up on delivery are real work, so they keep being chased normally.

    If it did not work

    • I reopened the opportunity and the task did not come back: check whether an owner or date-range filter is active on the Tasks list.
    • I want to keep the task even with the opportunity lost: move the task to another open opportunity, or reopen the opportunity.
    • The task disappeared and the opportunity is not lost: check whether the opportunity was deleted — tasks from a deleted opportunity also leave the queue.
