How do I put the Clickmax chat on my site?
The webchat catches the person who landed on your site with a question — the visitor who would never fill in a form and would simply leave. Its advantage over a standalone chat tool is that the conversation lands in the same place as the other channels, tied to the contact.
Before you start
- Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
- You need access to the site's HTML if the site lives outside the platform.
- Decide who is going to answer before you switch it on. A chat with no attendant is worse than no chat at all.
1. Enable the webchat
Follow enable WebChat.
2. Install it where it makes sense
On Clickmax pages the widget is activated by the platform itself. On an external site, include the script — the same route described in external pages with Clickmax.
Do not put the chat on every page by default. On a checkout page, for example, it usually gets in the way more than it helps.
3. Define who answers
Authorise the attendants on the channel — see attendant assignment. Without that the conversation arrives and nobody can see it.
4. Agree a response time
Chat creates an expectation of an immediate reply. If the team cannot answer quickly, make your support hours clear in the widget itself.
5. Connect it to the CRM
Every conversation becomes a contact in Contacts. When there is buying intent, record it as an opportunity: build your first pipeline.

- Conversations do not arrive: review the attendants' authorisation on the channel.
- Nobody answers in time: cut down the pages that carry the chat, or adjust the hours you advertise.
