How do I build an email sequence?
Email is the cheapest channel and the most patient one: it takes volume, it does not depend on template approval, and it keeps working months later. What it does demand is reputation — and reputation is built before the first send.
Before you start
- Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
- Set up your email domain before sending anything. Sending from an unverified domain starts the sequence with your reputation already damaged.
1. Verify the sender domain
Without verification, a good share of your messages goes to spam — and you never find out, because the report says "sent". Confirm the domain shows as Verified and the sender address is confirmed before going any further.
2. Plan the sequence before you write it
Decide how many emails, at what spacing, and what each one is for. A sequence improvised as you go turns into repetition, and repetition produces unsubscribes.
A shape that works well for nurture:
3. Write to one person
A subject line that describes the content, a single ask per email, and one main link. An email with five different calls to action converts on none of them.
4. Build the flow
Create the automation with the timings you decided. Make sure it knows when to stop: anyone who buys should drop out of the sales sequence.
5. Watch delivery, not just opens
If delivery drops, stop and investigate before you keep sending. A dirty base is the most frequent cause — see clean up your database.
6. Grow slowly
If the domain is new, start with low volume and increase gradually. A bulk send on a new domain's first day usually ends up in spam.

If it didn't work
- The emails go to spam: confirm the email domain is verified and reduce the volume.
- Invalid sender: review the registered sender address — the send fails if the chosen sender does not exist or does not belong to this workspace.
- Too many unsubscribes: the sequence is too long, or it is talking to people who never asked for it.
