  • How do I open my product to affiliates?

An affiliate is a salesperson who only costs you money when they sell. The trade-off is that they carry your brand into places you do not control — which is why the rules have to be settled before you open the programme.

    Before you start

    • Role: Owner or Admin.
    • The product needs to be selling well for you first. An affiliate does not fix an offer that fails to convert — they only amplify what already exists.
    • Work out the commission with fees and product cost already accounted for.

    1. Decide the commission

The percentage is your main argument for attracting affiliates, but it cannot destroy your margin. Clickmax accepts an Affiliate commission between 1% and 80%.

Think about whether commission should apply to order bumps and upsells further down the flow as well.

You can also run different levels: a Default Commission that every affiliate follows, and a Special Commission for individuals — useful for recognising the people who bring volume.

    2. Set up affiliation on the product

In Affiliates, turn on Enable product affiliation for the product and work through Affiliation settings, including whether the product appears under Show in the affiliation marketplace.

Commission is attributed by Last Click: it goes to the affiliate whose link was clicked last before the purchase.

    3. Decide how affiliates are approved

Allow automatic affiliate approval? is the switch. Approving each affiliate yourself gives you control over who represents you; approving automatically brings volume. On a sensitive product, manual approval saves you a headache over inappropriate promotion — pending people wait in Affiliation Requests.

    4. Hand over ready-made material

Affiliates sell whatever is easy to sell. A shared package (reference page in Portuguese) — funnel, pages and product already built — dramatically reduces the friction. See shared package for producers.

    5. Put the rules in writing

Write down what is allowed: use of the brand, paid traffic on the product name, promises nobody may make. The product carries two fields for exactly this — Affiliation terms and Affiliation instructions. Without written rules, you only find out about a problem once it has already happened.

    6. Keep track

See track affiliate performance to measure results and spot who deserves better terms.

    If it didn't work

    • Nobody signs up as an affiliate: revisit the commission and the support material.
    • The affiliate cannot see the product: confirm affiliation is enabled and their request approved.
    • The commission came out different from what you expected: review the rules and what order bumps are subject to.
