  • How do I control the offer and the chat during a live webinar?

Everything you save in the webinar settings reaches people already watching within seconds, on its own. Nobody has to reload the room.

    Before you start

    • Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
    • A published webinar with the room link already shared.

    1. Release or pull the offer with a full room

You decide on the spot when the offer card shows up.

    1. Open the webinar and go to the Offer step.
    2. Adjust Show from (the video minute when the card appears), the price, the button text or the checkout link.
    3. Save.

Viewers get the change in about 15 seconds: the card appears, disappears or shows the new price with no action on their side. Turning the offer off removes the card from the room the same way.

The same applies to the rest of the settings — chat, reactions, audience and appearance follow this rule too.

To release or pull the offer on click, without touching the scheduled minute, use the live session control room.

    2. Pick the buy button colour

In the Offer step, under Button colour, choose the colour. It applies both to the offer card button and to the Buy button pinned at the top of the chat.

The button label switches to light or dark on its own based on that colour — there is no combination where it becomes unreadable.

With no colour set on the offer, the buttons fall back to the main colour from the Appearance step.

    3. Show a checkout QR code in the room

People watching on a TV or a projector cannot click the buy button. The QR code solves that: they point their phone camera at it and land straight on your checkout.

    1. In the Offer step, fill in the Checkout link.
    2. Still in the Offer step, under Room display, turn on Checkout QR code.
    3. Save.

The QR code is generated from the same Checkout link the buy button uses — there is no separate field for it, so the two can never point to different addresses. It also carries the same source parameters (utm) the button click would carry, when the offer is set to pass them along: a sale made on the phone keeps the right attribution.

In the room, the QR code sits inside the offer card, next to the price and the button — so it is only there while the offer is released. Viewers can click it to see it full screen (handy when the room is being projected) and close it with Close or the Esc key.

On phones the QR code is not shown: someone already holding their phone uses the buy button.

While the Checkout link is empty, the Checkout QR code switch stays off and locked — with no link there is nothing to point to.

    4. Use the YouTube chat in the room

If you stream on YouTube, you can bring the real stream chat into the room, replacing the Clickmax message panel.

    1. In the Video step, choose YouTube and paste the stream link.
    2. Go to the Chat step and turn on YouTube chat.
    3. Save.

In the room, the right-hand panel now shows the stream's own chat — real messages, with YouTube's own input (viewers must be signed in to their YouTube account to write).

What changes while this chat is on

    • The simulated message script is not shown — having both would confuse viewers.
    • If the viewer has not left their details yet, the sign-up block stays below the chat: lead capture is not lost.
    • The YouTube chat only loads on the webinar's public address. Previewing from a different address makes YouTube refuse to display it.

If the webinar video is not a YouTube link, Clickmax warns you right in the Chat step and the room keeps the normal message panel.

In the normal message panel, messages sent while the session is on air are real and reach everyone. You follow, answer and moderate them from the live session control room. Outside the live session — on replay, or before it starts — a viewer's message shows only to whoever sent it, and the rest of the panel follows the script from the Chat step.

    If something does not work

    • The offer did not change for people already watching: confirm you saved the step and wait a few seconds. Background tabs only refresh when they come back to the front.
    • The button still shows the old colour: the colour lives in the Offer step, not in Appearance — check you saved it there.
    • The QR code switch will not turn on: it only becomes available once the Checkout link is filled in the Offer step.
    • The QR code does not show up in the room: it lives inside the offer card — check the offer has already been released at the minute set in Show from. On phones it is hidden on purpose.
    • The YouTube chat is empty or shows an error: the stream must be live on YouTube with chat enabled on YouTube's side, and the room must be opened through the webinar's public address.
