How do I increase the average order value of my offer?
There are three levers, and they act at different moments of the purchase. Using all three at once, with no criteria, usually cuts conversion instead of raising revenue.
Before you start
- Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
- The offer has to use the Clickmax checkout.
Which lever to use
1. Start with the order bump
The order bump is the lowest-risk lever: it appears as a tickable add-on inside the checkout and does not interrupt the purchase. Set it up on the offer — see Checkout.
Rule of thumb: the bump should cost far less than the main product and solve the problem that comes immediately after the one the main product solves.
2. Then build the upsell sequence
With the bump working, add the post-purchase sequence described in upsell, downsell and one-click buy.
3. Use coupons deliberately
Coupons lower the order value — the gain comes from volume or from recovery. Use them in a campaign with a deadline, not as a permanent discount.
4. Measure the real effect
A higher order value that drags conversion down can reduce total revenue. In Sales, track the Average Ticket and the number of orders before and after each change — see reconcile sales.
