How do I get official WhatsApp working?
WhatsApp is the highest-converting channel and the easiest one to lose. The rules are not Clickmax's, they are Meta's — and ignoring them costs you the number.
Before you start
- Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
- A number that is not already active in another sending tool.
- Set aside some time: template approval is not instant.
1. Connect the number
Follow connect WhatsApp. If the number was already used on another platform, disconnect it there first.
2. Understand what templates are
To start a conversation with someone who has not messaged you first, you need a template approved by Meta. Free-form messages only work inside the 24h window opened when the customer replies.
This is what confuses people most: the message works in a test with someone you have already talked to, and fails at scale with everyone who has never replied.
3. Create the templates in advance
Write them and submit them for approval before you need them. Meta approval usually takes a few minutes, but the stated deadline is 24 hours. Rejected templates are normally too promotional or too vague — be specific and useful.
4. Respect the sending limits
Meta caps how many new conversations you can start per day and raises that ceiling as your number's Quality holds up. You can see the current ceiling under Messaging Limits on your WhatsApp account. A big send early on is the fastest route to a restriction — see the Meta sending limit (Portuguese).
Volume raises your tier, but blasting cold lists burns your quality, and low quality lowers your limit. Start small and grow steadily.
5. Keep an eye on credits
Every send consumes sending credits. Before a large campaign, check the balance — a campaign that stops halfway reaches part of your base and leaves the rest without context.
6. Protect the number's quality
- Message people who asked to hear from you, not a purchased list.
- Make it easy to opt out. Blocks are the signal that damages quality most.
- Prefer steady volume over spikes.
